Adare is a co-director of as-such. She has worked on residential projects across the U.S. Most recently she worked as a project manager at STAT, overseeing affordable housing projects in New York City with construction budgets ranging from $9 million to $90 million. In 2024 she was awarded the Steedman Fellowship from Washington University in St. Louis to study social housing internationally.
She received her Master of Architecture degree from Yale and currently teaches architecture at Bard College.

James is a co-director of as-such. He has a decade of experience working on cultural, residential and housing projects across the U.S, Africa, South America, and China. Before founding as-such, he worked for practices including MOS, Stan Allen, and Michael Maltzan.
He received his Professional Master of Architecture degree from Princeton and currently teaches architecture at Pratt Institute, NYIT, and CUNY in New York.
